David Goldfisher, Co-Founder, Principal

In the early 1990s, the CMBS real estate space was brand new and hungry for a few, strong, bold voices. David Goldfisher was and still is one of those few voices. As a CMBS loan originator and director of some of the most well-known CMBS groups–Wells Fargo, Bear Stearns, and ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank–David and his colleagues helped shape the CMBS world. Because of this intimate knowledge of the CMBS realm, he understands the requirements, needs, and motivations of the Trust’s bondholders, who hire Special Servicers to negotiate with owners.

Since 2009, David has represented the interests of the real estate owner, achieving a 40% (on average) loan reduction rate for his clients. His approach is hands-on and his negotiating skills refined and mature. David has earned high praise from Special Servicers for his expertise and broad knowledge of the CMBS industry as well as his ability to negotiate swift and successful workout resolutions, including discounted payoffs, loan modifications, and loan extensions for current and defaulted loans.

David holds his MBA in Finance and Investments from the George Washington University and his BS in Management Information Systems from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. He is a frequent public speaker and guest lecturer, addressing audiences in a variety of venues such as Boston University, the George Washington University, the Appraisal Institute and the Real Estate Finance Association. David holds Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and is an active member of many industry organizations and trade groups, including:

  • CREFC (Commercial Real Estate Finance Council)
  • MBA (Mortgage Bankers Association – National)
  • ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers – National)
  • RELA (Real Estate Lenders Association – New York)
  • REFA (Real Estate Finance Association – New England)

Dave has extensive background and contacts in the CMBS world having structured and securitized many deals at Bear Stearns and ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank. I have recently worked with him on 2 transactions—each of which resulted in successful loan restructurings. Dave’s knowledge of the numbers and inner workings of CMBS rules and philosophies was integral to achieving the Borrower’s objectives.

Tammy Gilbert Goldfisher, Co-Founder, Principal

As a principal and co-founder, Tammy is focused on “extricating borrowers from CMBS quicksand” and championing the team’s entrepreneurial and creative solutions for its clients. She possesses 25+ years of commercial real estate experience in financing, structuring, and working out complex real estate transactions.

Tammy is THG’s “Chief Listener” and is responsible for researching, tracking and organizing external data about the CMBS Servicing world, fusing it with THG’S “internal knowledge library” and delivering improved client services.

Due to her ability to aggregate, dissect and distill complicated market data along with complex loan agreements and PSA documentation, Tammy’s forte is in building business plans reflective of the clients and Servicer’s goals.

She began her commercial lending career at Shawmut Bank and Trust in 1989 and in 1994 took the opportunity to be part of a dynamic start-up team which founded Atlantic Bank & Trust. While with AB & T, she originated commercial real estate loans as well as interfaced with the FDIC and Recoll Management to liquidate troubled loans. She was instrumental in the liquidation of a national portfolio of troubled real estate loans collateralized by partnership interests.

From 1997-2001 Tammy served as a principal at Capital Access, Incorporated where she represented commercial real estate owners in structuring debt/equity. While there she specialized in CMBS financings with CIBC, Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan, Bear Stearns, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Goldman Sachs, as well as institutional equity sources.

After Capital Access, she involved herself with Kingfisher Analytics—a start-up company–where she forged a creative partnership with Ernst Consulting of Atlanta, GA. Together, the team provided much needed support services to Tammy’s existing debt/equity clients. She introduced and delivered cost segregation to real estate owners, most of whom were unaware of the accelerated depreciation tax benefits permitted by the IRS.
